I am touched every time I deliver a package to the safe care parents. With my last delivery I visited an old lady who is clearly very poor. She takes care of a 15 year old boy. I entered the house and found the old lady sitting on a chair, next to the boy’s bed in the small room. On the floor was packets of potato chips – she sells these at the bus stop to support herself and the boy. It struck me how clean the little house was. She radiated love and friendliness and I was touched to think how tough it must be for her just to be able to provide the basics for survival.
I hugged her, prayed for her and delivered the family support package which consists of a box of porridge, long life milk, peanut butter, soap and sugar. She was so surprised and thankful for this support that she almost started to cry.
